The first GIN Kansai Conference was held on February 3rd, 2018. In this conference, students were asked to share 'what do you do at your school to help solve global issues'. 15 amazing students and 6 active service groups participated. The conference aimed to be a place where students could proudly present their actions to solve global issues. It hoped to raise awareness towards global issues, foster the student's global citizenship and help develop local collaboration with other students. In this conference, by sharing and listening, students learned and reflected on the long term and short term actions they can take from now on. There were many varieties of service groups and each and every presentation were very inspiring. The actives conducted allowed students to identify the strengths of their service action, ways to make their service action even stronger and broaden their ideas towards the actions they take. Overall, this conference connected international schools students in Kansai which engages in service activities. I would like to thank everyone who had participated in this conference and I am looking forward to conducting another conference where the students can now work together to 'think globally, and act locally'.
